Preston North End Announce Goalkeeper Coach

11 August 2019

Preston North End are delighted to announce the appointment of Jonathan Gould as goalkeeping coach with effect from Monday 12th August 2019.

Jonathan has extensive experience both as a top goalkeeper and also as a goalkeeping coach, most recently with West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough.

He played over 350 games in a long career, including 59 games for the Lilywhites between 2003 and 2005.

The experienced coach was capped at international level for Scotland and has been coaching in New Zealand, Australia and England since 2006.

Speaking about his appointment, Jonathan said: “I am delighted to take up this opportunity at a club I know well from my playing time for PNE and, of course, most recently as Championship opponents.
"I had no hesitation in accepting this role as soon as it was offered to me.
"I will do everything that I can to assist the manager and his coaching team to get the best, specifically out of our goalkeepers, but also out of the team as a whole."

Manager Alex Neil added: "I am delighted to be adding someone of Jonathan’s experience to the coaching staff and we all look forward to working with him."
