Comedian Dane Cook is coming to Pensacola to tell it like it is.

On Sept. 28 at the Saenger Theatre, the 47-year-old comedian will take the stage as part of his first major stand-up tour since 2013.

Cook's "Tell It Like It Is Tour" live performance at one of the Pensacola's most historic venues begins at 8 p.m. The Boston-born comedian has a number of best-selling comedy albums under his belt, including "Retaliation," and "ISolated INcident."

Dane Cook will perform a stand-up comedy routine on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Saenger Theatre in downtown Pensacola.

His current tour marks the end of a hiatus that began shortly after his directorial debut and most recent stand-up special, "Troublemarker," premiered on Showtime in 2014.

His last full-scale tour since was in 2013 and was titled "Under Oath."

"I spent years working to be consistent; I don't want to sound immodest, but I bat 1,000, even on a chill night at a club when I'm just trying out new jokes," Cook said in an interview with Westword a couple of months after the "Tell It Like It Is Tour" began in April. "So I want to take these tools I've spent years developing and rebuild with these new technologies and new comedians and new generation of fans."
