Vegas Value Report [July 15-21] - Where to Play Poker in Las Vegas this Week

Las Vegas Value Report

While the summer camp for poker players in Las Vegas is winding down, there is still plenty of poker tournaments for players to choose from with promises of big prize pools and top prizes at the Rio Convention Center, The Wynn, and The Venetian.

With this in mind, here is a look at some of the bigger value tournaments this week of July 15 - July 21. The tournament data comes courtesy of the tournament organizers. 1) Event #89: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em (July 15-16)

Vegas Value Report [July 15-21] - Where to Play Poker in Las Vegas this Week 101

The final bracelet event kicks off on July 15 at noon PDT with a hefty $5,000 price tag. It will be a fast-paced affair relative to other significant buy-in bracelet events but will provide plenty of play with 30-minute blind levels.

Players get 30,000 in chips with blinds starting at 100/100 and a big blind ante of 100. The tournament allows for one reentry until late registration closes at the start of Level 13.

Bags will be passed out on Day 1 after twenty blind levels are in the books. Players are then scheduled to battle for one more day on July 16 until one player wins the bracelet and the top prize.

Last year's event was one to remember with Phil Hellmuth winning his 15th bracelet after he finished on top of 452 entrants to win the $485,082 top prize.

2) Venetian DeepStack Championship Poker Series $600 NLH DoubleStack $100,000 Guaranteed (July 15)

Venetian Deepstack Poker Series Las Vegas

The Venetian DeepStack Championship Poker Series is the only big series in Las Vegas continuing long after the WSOP concludes with the final tournament taking place on July 28.

Players looking for a smaller buy-in event on July 15 can choose between the $600 NLH Monster Stack with a $100,000 guarantee or an event taking place at The Wynn with the same guarantee, which will be the next up on our list.

The tournament will be played in a single day with players starting with 30,000 in chips at 12:10 p.m. PDT and blinds increasing every 30 minutes beginning at 100/100.

Players have plenty of opportunities to build a big stack with unlimited reentries allowed until late registration closes after Level 10.

Expect the $100,000 guarantee to be a place holder based on the two previous one-day DoubleStack events taking place earlier in the summer. The first one witnessed 605 entrants creating a $311,575 prize pool with Gianluca Petrone ($52,810) and Alexander Butcher ($52,809) agreeing to a heads-up deal to end the tournament. The second event took place on July 11 and also generated plenty of interest.

3) Wynn Summer Classic $550 NLH $100,000 Gtd. (July 15)

Vegas Value Report [July 15-21] - Where to Play Poker in Las Vegas this Week 102

The Wynn Summer Classic is wrapping up in grand style with this $550 event featuring a $100,000 guarantee on July 15. It takes place just 10 minutes before the start of the event at the Venetian at noon PDT, so players will need to choose which event they want to participate in with similar buy-ins, guarantees, and structure.

Players start this one-day event with 18,000 in chips and will play 30-minute blind levels starting at 100/100. Unlimited reentries are permitted until the start of Level 9 when late registration closes.

Short breaks of 10 minutes are planned after every four blind levels except for a 45-minute dinner break after Level 12 at approximately 6:30 p.m. PDT.

4) Venetian DeepStack Championship Poker Series $5,000 No Limit Hold’em Card Player Poker Tour $2 Million Gtd. (July 16 - 20)

Venetian Deepstack Poker Series Las Vegas

Big hitters remaining in Sin City after the conclusion of the World Series of Poker can play in this $5,000 event featuring a massive $2 million guaranteed prize pool.

The tournament features two opening flights on July 16-17 at 12:10 p.m. PDT with players starting with 25,000 in chips. They'll play nine blind levels of an hour each.

Players unable to bag chips or those looking to enter late will have the opportunity to do so on Day 2 on July 18 with unlimited reentries allowed until late registration closes after Level 12 (the third blind level of the day.) The structure gets deeper starting Day 2 with 75-minute blind levels which will remain until heads-up play when blind levels will be reduced to 30 minutes.

Those finding a bag on Day 2 will compete for two more days on July 19-20 until someone wins what promises to be a huge top prize.

5) Venetian DeepStack Championship Poker Series $600 No Limit Hold’em DoubleStack (July 18 - 21) $250,000 Gtd.

Venetian Deepstack Poker Series Las Vegas

Another big event takes place at the Venetian later in the week. Despite a similar title to the other DoubleStack event mentioned, this one differs in a big way as it is a multi-day event.

Players start with 30,000 in chips during each of the three opening flights on July 18-20. The first opening flight will end as soon as 11 percent of the field remains or at the conclusion of Level 15. The other two opening flights will end at the same spot as the first opening flight.

Unlimited reentries are allowed until late registration closes at the beginning of Level 10. Those that bagged chips on an earlier opening flight can try for an even bigger stack with the tournament allowing for the biggest stack to be moved forward.

Surviving players from the three opening flights will merge into one field for one final day of play on July 21 when the action will play down to a winner.
