Discussions earmarked as Portsmouth plan to compensate ticket-holders for games to be missed

And they will hold discussions with the Tony Goodall Fans’ Conference to ensure supporters are consulted on the process.

The Blues expect a decision on the 2019-20 League One season to be made on Tuesday.

The Fratton Park outfit want the campaign to be concluded on the pitch.

However, the likelihood is the majority of clubs will vote for the season to end, with promotion and relegation to then be determined via a model agreed by all clubs.

The EFL outlined an unweighted points per game model as it’s preferred option in a recent statement, but clubs had until 2pm on Tuesday to put forward alternative arrangements.

Whatever is decided, fans will not be present at any play-off game the Blues are expected to be a part of.

With that in mind, the club are keen to step up procedures on how fans – either season-ticket holders or those with advance bookings for games – can be reimbursed.

The Blues had nine league fixtures remaining this term, including four at home and five away from Fratton Park.

A club statement read: Portsmouth Football Club expect to learn how and when the 2019-20 League One season will conclude following an EFL meeting next Tuesday (June 9).

‘Once a decision has been announced, the club will be able to advance discussions on a number of issues – both internally and with the Tony Goodall Fans’ Conference.

‘This includes how season-ticket holders and individual match-ticket holders will be compensated in the event of fixtures either not taking place or being played behind closed doors.

‘We will then look to confirm the result of these discussions with all of our supporters as soon as possible.

The Blues’ Leasing.com Trophy final against Salford at Wembley will be played on a yet to be identified date next season, with fans who had purchased tickets receiving them at the end of April.
