A Rochester teenager is charged with felony counts of aggravated robbery following a February incident.

Divaunte Katrtrell Young, 18, made his first appearance in Olmsted County District Court Wednesday on charges of first-degree aggravated robbery and first-degree aggravated robbery-aid and abet. Judge Christa Daily set unconditional bond at $100,000 but ordered that Young could be released with conditions including that he wear GPS monitoring and take part in a pretrial release program.

As of Thursday afternoon, Young was still listed as in custody at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 3.

Rochester Police were called around 2:15 p.m. Feb. 17 to the 800 block of 21st Avenue Southeast for a report of a robbery. A man reported he had been contacted via Snapchat by a woman asking for marijuana wax cartridges. During the sale, a gun was pulled and the man was forced to remove his coat and pants and lay on his stomach. The individuals took the man’s cell phone and approximately $350 in cash, according to court documents.

The man’s girlfriend contacted police and names of two suspects were given, as well as a description of the man holding the gun. Through previous interactions, police believed they knew the woman involved in the robbery.

When police interviewed Young, he reportedly admitted to being at the robbery and taking the marijuana wax cartridges from the man but denied setting up the robbery and having a gun, according to court documents. Young refused to tell police who had the gun.
