Boonthum Thontarn-Sorensen -- West Concord

Boonthum "Boon" Thontarn-Sorensen was born Aug. 21, 1971, in Ban Chang Rayong, Thailand. He passed away at the age of 48, on Oct. 17, 2019, at the family farm.

Boon attended and graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1990. Through the years, he made a living working as a truck driver and in the construction industry. Boon was an artist. He attended Brown Institute of Art which lead him into a love of tattooing. He performed tattooing for most of his life and passed that passion onto his daughter, Skylar. He was married on Sept. 21, 2019, to Jessica Northway.

Boon enjoyed riding motorcycle and being part of a motorcycle club. He loved hunting and fishing or any outdoor activity. Boon loved and cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his daughters and grandchildren.

Boon is survived by his loving wife, Jessica; four daughters, Skylar Sorensen (Elliot Wilkens) of Kenyon, Jenna, Jackie and Jasmine Bergeron of West Concord; two grandchildren, EllaRae and Emric Wilkens; parents, Paul Hokanson of Cannon Falls, and Michael (Janet) Sorensen of Medford; siblings, Nicholas (Jennifer) Sorensen of Medford, Ashley (Clayton) Tuttle of Humboldt, Iowa, Amber Sorensen of Medford, Darin (Megan) Hokanson of Rochester, Gregory (Lhonda) Hokanson of Dodge Center, and Ray (Kara) Northway of Brownsdale; eight nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Boon was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Hokanson; grandparents, Theodore (Lola) Sorensen and Thore (Minnie) Hokanson.

The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Minneola Lutheran Church, 13628 County 50 Blvd, Goodhue, with Rev. Hannah Bergstrom de Leon officiating. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 at Mahn Family Funeral Home -- Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, and one hour before the service at the church.
