The family of a pensioner found dead at Aberdeen Indoor Market two days after going missing have said they will not be able to grieve until they receive answers.
Frank Finnie’s body was found in an unused area of the market, two days after he fell through a fire exit into an unused part of the property.
It is understood the 80-year-old suffered a serious head injury during the incident.
Mr Finnie, who had dementia, was reported missing from his home in Sheddocksley on June 7.
At the time, his son Keith demanded to know why there wasn’t a fire alarm on the door which could have helped find him sooner.
Now Mr Finnie junior has revealed his mother Iris’s health has worsened as the family grow more and more desperate to find out if any legal action will be taken.

The 44-year-old said: “The investigation has been going on now since my dad died in June and we are feeling frustrated there hasn’t been any more progress.
“We as a family are still finding it very difficult to deal with, as there have been no answers as to why this could possible happen.
“The family are struggling to come to terms with what happened because of this.
“My 78-year-old mum’s health has deteriorated since my dad’s death, which is a huge worry for my brother and me, along with the rest of the family.
“None of us can begin to grieve properly until we get answers.
“We understand there is a complex process to go through with the investigation, but it doesn’t make it any easier for us.”
A spokesman for the Crown Office said: “The procurator fiscal has received a report in connection with the death of an 80-year-old man in Aberdeen on June 9
“The investigation into the death, under the direction of the health and safety division, is ongoing and the family will continue to be kept updated in relation to any significant developments.”
