An Aberdeenshire woman has been fined for attacking and biting a love rival after a war of words turned violent outside a restaurant.
Tanya Slesser, 24, had attended a Curry Club party night at the Nosheen Tandoori restaurant in Ellon – where the tables are cleared to make way for a “nightclub” experience – when she bumped into Adelle Foy.
Slesser, of Park Crescent in Ellon, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday after admitting assaulting Ms Foy.
The court heard that Ms Foy had recently begun a relationship with Slesser’s former partner.
Fiscal depute Alan Townsend said: “The complainer knew the accused but they were not friends at the time, as her current partner was Slesser’s ex-partner.
“Threats followed, and the accused followed Ms Foy outside when she left for a cigarette.
“The accused tried to hit Ms Foy with her handbag, then punched her to the face and dragged her to the ground.
“Ms Foy tried to get back up and was bitten on the inside of her left thigh by the accused.”
Slesser was later arrested and admitted assaulting Ms Foy by “punching her on the head, pulling her to the ground, pinning her on the ground and biting her” in the early hours of October 1, last year.
Defence agent Chris Maitland said the accused had been struggling with medical problems at the time and has since apologised to Ms Foy.
Sheriff Graham Buchanan said: “This is a fairly serious matter, because of the extent of the violence.”
Slesser was fined £175.
