Fraserburgh forward Paul Campbell is hoping for an immediate response from his side after their Aberdeenshire Shield semi-final defeat.
The Broch went into Wednesday’s match at Banks o’ Dee on a high after ending Cove Rangers’ perfect start to the season with a 1-0 win at Bellslea last Saturday.
But they were brought back to earth with a bump after going down 3-1 at Spain Park with Dee earning a place in the final against Formartine.
Campbell is expecting a difficult match against Strathspey Thistle tomorrow following the Grantown side’s 4-3 win at Rothes.
He said: “Strathspey seem to have picked up a lot this season. They have signed some good players, such as the Lisle twins from Brora Rangers and the vastly experienced Graeme Grant from Forres.
“We are expecting a really tough game at Seafield Park, especially after our disappointing performance at Spain Park in the Shield.
“After the cup tie that was probably as low as many of us players have felt. It was a hard one to take as the way we performed was possibly the worst I’ve seen us play, certainly in my time at the club.
“The boys were really flat after that defeat. We can’t blame the artificial surface which I thought was perfect. Anybody should be able to play on a pitch like that.
“We have a team full of good footballers but everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong and the late sending off of goalkeeper Paul Leask for handball outside the penalty area summed up our night perfectly.”
The 25-year-old added: “The only thing we can do is hope to go out there on Saturday and make amends for our midweek cup defeat.
“Hopefully we can put it right. We are all in this together and the Highland League is now our only focus as we are out of all the cups.
“It’s all we have to go for so we now need to put all our efforts into that campaign. We were on such a high after beating Cove last weekend so it was disappointing to follow that up with such a low at Banks o’ Dee.
“Hopefully we can bounce back in Grantown this weekend and keep the pressure on Cove.”
