Judy's Kindness Kitchen, Providence

Judy's Kindness Kitchen, a weekly soup kitchen run by volunteers, is seeking individuals of all ages to prepare food at Congregation Beth Sholom on Sundays from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. They also need volunteers who are 18 or older to serve food at Crossroads Rhode Island on Sundays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Contact David at jkk.cbs@gmail.com.

Providence Children's Museum

The Providence Children's Museum needs play guides to assist in the learning experience for visitors to the museum's exhibits and programs. The commitment is at least three hours a week for at least three months. Daily shifts are from 8:30 a.m. to noon, noon to 3 p.m. and 2 to 5:30 p.m. Friday evening shifts are also available. Providence Community Library

The Providence Community Library is looking for volunteers to raise money for the Knight Memorial Library by adding up Eastside Marketplace receipts. Good organizational and communication skills are required. Contact Sara at shuber@provcomlib.org.

Meals on Wheels of Rhode Island, statewide

Meals on Wheels, which provides home-delivered, nutritious meals to elderly Rhode Islanders, needs volunteers to deliver noontime meals, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drivers are especially needed in East Providence, Johnston, Westerly and Woonsocket. Samaritans of Rhode Island

Volunteers are needed for the Samaritans of Rhode Island suicide prevention hotline/listening line. You must be 18 years or older and out of high school, participate in 21-25 hours of mandatory classroom training, agree to a criminal background and professional reference check, community service agreement forms, and a minimum commitment of 200 hours of service. Retirees, college and university undergraduate, graduate and medical students and interns, as well as Spanish speakers, are encouraged to apply. Learn more at an introductory session on Monday, Feb. 25, from 6 to 7 p.m. Required training classes will be March 4, 7, 11, 14, 18 and 21; and April 1 and 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. Classes meet at the Forget Me Not Gallery, 67 Park Place, Pawtucket.
