Providence police release video of sexual-assault suspect

PROVIDENCE — The Providence police have released video and are asking the public's help to identify a man who aggressively groped a woman and punched another woman unconscious at a downtown bar last week.

The man appears to be 6 foot 3 inches tall and about 230 pounds, and was wearing a T-shirt with a large "C" on the front. The two women, both students at Roger Williams University, were at Hanley’s Ale House on Pine Street at around 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 when the man approached them.

After the man groped one woman, several bouncers forced him out of the bar, and then he punched the other woman when she yelled at him through an open window. The woman was knocked out for several minutes and sought medical treatment the next day.
