PAWTUCKET -- A Pawtucket man robbed a Cumberland Farms late Wednesday, then held up a CVS, eventually getting arrested when he was identified by a face tattoo, authorities said.

Troy Fortes, 31, will be charged with “several counts” of first-degree robbery, the Pawtucket police say.

Police said the Cumberland Farms at 193 Division St. was held up late Wednesday by a barefoot man. The man said he had a gun, but didn’t show one, police said. He got some money and then fled on Division Street, police said.

A few hours later, the CVS at 835 Newport Ave. was robbed -- the second one at the same CVS in two nights, police said. A man told the clerk he had a knife, and left with money, also stealing a cellphone from a customer before fleeing, police said.

Police got a description of the suspect as a man with a tattoo on his face, wearing a black sweatshirt and gray sleeves; police later saw a man matching that description on Walcott Street.

Authorities identified him as Fortes, of 96 Courtney Ave. He was taken into custody and is set for arraignment on robbery charges Thursday morning in Providence District Court, police said.
