LINCOLN — The driver of a pickup truck who hit a minivan and then a house in Lincoln was charged with driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test, according to Lincoln police.

Richard Barche III, 31, of Cumberland, was charged after the crash on Sunday, according to Capt. Philip Gould.

Police previously said Barche was driving with his 4-year-old daughter in the pickup truck when he rear-ended a minivan and hit a house at Lonsdale Avenue and Front Street.

Barche was unconscious when first-responders arrived, and rescue crews had to use Narcan, the opioid reversal treatment, Gould said. Barche, his daughter and three people in the minivan — a 57-year-old woman and two children — were treated for injuries that weren’t life threatening, police said previously.

Two of the units in the four-unit home had been deemed structurally unsafe, police had said.
