PROVIDENCE — A Providence man who allegedly sold nearly two kilograms of fentanyl and nearly 400 grams of heroin while under surveillance by the Drug Enforcement Administration was indicted by a federal grand jury on Tuesday on fentanyl and heroin trafficking charges.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Providence, 31-year-old Josimar Delacruz-Reyes faces up to life in federal prison if convicted.

DEA task force officers electronically monitored Delacruz-Reyes multiple times in February as he made deliveries of fentanyl, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. He was arrested March 18 at a coffee shop as he attempted to collect a cash payment of $115,000, according to the news release.

Each time members of the DEA task force monitored a delivery of drugs, the drugs were quickly seized by law enforcement, according to the news release.

Delacruz-Reyes has in federal custody since his arrest.
