Tires stolen from R.I. education commissioner's car

PROVIDENCE -- Nothing says welcome to Rhode Island more than having your tires stolen. That's exactly what happened to state education Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green's car while it was parked in her garage in Central Falls.

"My car had all four tires stolen yesterday," she said before a press conference Friday on the school district's new fiscal report. "It wasn't even on blocks, it was on bricks. My poor husband. He said, 'This never happened in New York (City) in our entire lives.' This is the kind of thing you see in movies."

Infante-Green was appointed commissioner in March.
