PROVIDENCE — Police are investigating after two men reportedly knocked a 17-year-old boy to the ground and ripped his Adidas Yeezy sneakers off Thursday.

The teen told police that two tall males followed him off a bus at Mount Pleasant Avenue and Hendrick Street. While he was walking down Hendrick Street, one of the suspects knocked him to the ground, while another held him down and pulled off his white, blue and black sneakers. Police responded to the scene at about 6 p.m.

One of the suspects in the strong-armed robbery was described as wearing a red sweater, black sandals and carrying a black backpack with red outlining.

The case was turned over to detectives, Commander Thomas Verdi said.
