Cafe Nuovo, a restaurant at One Citizens Plaza, was among the businesses damaged by protesters early Tuesday morning.

Chairs were thrown through windows, cabanas were damaged and the bar was “ransacked,” according to a Facebook post by the restaurant.

Like other restaurants affected by the coronavirus, Cafe Nuovo had been forced to close. Restaurants are now reopening to limited dining.

In a post written Monday, only a few hours before the protest, Cafe Nuovo announced that it had reopened for indoor and outdoor dining.

“HALLELUJAH!” the post said.

The Tuesday morning post said, “So much hard work - and now this”.

“We all need prayer more than ever. We will persevere. God Bless America.”
