BOSTON --- Roger Clemens will take the mound at nearby St. Peter’s Field on Thursday night.

The former Red Sox right-hander is the headliner at the 26th annual Oldtime Baseball Game, which will be held in North Cambridge. Clemens and others will be raising money for Compassionate Care ALS, an organization that supports patients and their families battling the insidious ailment also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Clemens won three of his seven career Cy Young Awards in 13 seasons with Boston from 1984-96. He was also named the American League Most Valuable Player in 1986, helping the Red Sox reach the World Series by going 24-4 with a 2.48 earned-run average.

Clemens turned 57 earlier this month. He still awaits Hall of Fame induction after being linked to performance-enhancing drugs through the Mitchell Report, which was released in 2007.
