Four Star Louisiana RB Commits to the Buffaloes

THIS IS A BIG ONE, FOLKS, EVERYONE GET IN HERE

NCAA Football: Arizona at Colorado Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Football is meant to be a brute force game where one man holds the football and runs away or through people trying to get him. I have my preference: I love the big backs, the thoroughbreds. Give me Chris Brown, Earl Campbell, Cedric Benson (RIP), and LeGarrette Blount. I love running backs that impose their will on the game, who make defenses quit. I love the newest Colorado Buffaloes’ commit, Ashaad Clayton.

Ashaad Clayton is a big-time player. He plays at Warren Easton High School in New Orleans, Louisiana, a place that has been good to the Buffs. At 6’2 and 200 pounds, he is already college-ready physically and has an impressive pedigree. As a recruit, he is very exciting. A consensus four-star prospect, Clayton has (listed, but maybe not committable) offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Texas, and Tennessee. That’s a lot.

I would offer him, too. The man just ruins defenders. He is big, physical, and aggressive. He gets upfield in a hurry and then gets fast. In the open field, he is a menace. Ashaad is just a solid all-around back, and once he gets free, he is taking it to the house. Just a great pickup and my favorite of this class. He will play soon.

Welcome, Ashaad!
