Development of the UK’s long-gestating Kincardine floating wind array has sparked to life following running-in of its 2MW scout turbine, clearing the way for the 50MW project to be brought online by 2020.

Kincardine Offshore Windfarm Ltd (KOWL), majority owned by Spanish construction company Cobra, has confirmed that first power from the planned six-unit project off coast of Kincardineshire, Scotland, began flowing in late September.
