NEWFANE — All are welcome to an evening of food, fun, and fun facts at the Historical Society of Windham County's Vermont Trivia Night on Friday, Aug. 23, at the NewBrook Fire Station on Route 30.

Following the Society's brief annual meeting (beginning at 5:30 p.m.) will be a pot-luck dinner at 6 p.m. (bring a dish to share; drinks will be provided).

Beginning at 7 p.m. will be a Vermont and local Trivia Contest. Test your knowledge of Vermont trivia and local history. Do you know the unusual animal fossil discovered in Charlotte in 1849? What about how Vermont got its name? In what location was the Dam on the West River originally planned? Put your knowledge to the test and learn some fascinating new history facts at the same time. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the trivia contest.

Admission is free. See the Historical Society's website for the latest news and event listings: www.historicalsocietyofwindhamcounty.org. Questions? Contact 802-348-7891, or e-mail: info@historicalsocietyofwindhamcounty.org.
