The Cyclone is likely to move towards West Bengal and Bangladesh and weaken further, the IMD said earlier. However, the Odisha government has asked all district administrations to monitor Cyclone Bulbul’s development. NDRF teams have also been deployed in Odisha and West Bengal.

Earlier, 15 of Odisha’s 30 districts had been put on alert for any possible waterlogging and flood-like situation. IMD Director General Mrutyunjay Mohapatra had said the deep depression is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm by November 7.
