Westminster City Council has given the green light for the construction of a £32 million retail and leisure scheme in central London.
Westminster Council’s planning committee granted consent to an application from Shaftesbury – one of the major landlords of London’s West End – for a new retail scheme at 72 Broadwick Street, just off Carnaby Street.
Aside from retail, the 1970s building also offers restaurant, leisure and residential space and an extension and refurbishment of the remaining office space.
Shaftesbury said the estimated cost of this 70,000sq ft scheme is £32 million.
Works are expected to start in September 2019, and complete in late 2021.
The property firm added that retail space fronting Carnaby Street will be largely unaffected by the works.
