Coroner IDs man killed in crash near Bunkerville

The man killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash near Bunkerville on Monday has been identified by the Clark County coroner.

Randall J. Widmann, 46, of Mesquite was driving a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee north on New Grand Butte Road about 80 miles north of Las Vegas when he failed to follow the road’s sharp curve to the right about 1:45 p.m., according to a release from Las Vegas police. The Jeep rolled over and came to a rest on its right side.

Widmann was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.

The passenger of the Jeep, LJ Widmann, 36, of New Jersey, was taken to Mesa View Hospital in Mesquite where she was treated for minor injuries and released, police said.

This is the 29th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2016.
