NHP identifies man hit, killed by pickup truck in Carson City

The Nevada Highway Patrol released the name of the pedestrian who was fatally hit by a pickup truck over the weekend in Carson City.

Authorities identified the pedestrian as 42-year-old Carson City resident David Craig Romesburg.

The crash was reported at about 8:20 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Airport Road.

Investigators said they learned that Romesburg was walking north on the crosswalk parallel to Airport Road when he was hit.

According to NHP, the driver of a white 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling south on Airport Road and was approaching the intersection with U.S. 50.

The driver then made a left-hand turn to travel east on the highway and hit Romesburg with the front part of the truck.  

The driver then stopped on the shoulder of U.S. 50, just east of the intersection, authorities said.
