One of the biggest targets on Tennessee’s 2020 recruiting board is taking an official visit to Knoxville this weekend. Rakim Jarrett, a five-star prospect out of the Washington D.C. area, is set to see Tennessee once again.

Jeremy Pruitt and staff have managed to get him to take this official visit, despite Jarrett still remaining committed to LSU.

The five-star receiver is the 19th overall prospect in the 2020 class, according to 247 Sports. Jarrett checks in at 6-0, 208 pounds and is the third ranked receiver prospect in the class.

Jarrett was trending towards Tennessee in the spring, taking multiple visits to Knoxville. Tennessee even received a few crystal ball projections for Jarrett during that time, but Jarrett threw everyone a curve ball by committing to LSU during a visit in late April.

However, since then, his recruitment has not been shut down. Tennessee has remained in the mix with Jarrett, so much so that they’ll get an official visit this weekend.

Tennessee is likely selling playing time to Jarrett with the Vols set to lose four senior receivers after this season. Marquez Callaway, Jauan Jennings, Brandon Johnson and Tyler Byrd will all move on, freeing up a ton of snaps for newcomers in 2020. Jarrett would have a chance to start from day one in Knoxville, instantly solving Tennessee’s need at the position.

Jarrett has been praised for his speed and acceleration, along with his ability to separate with his route running. Watching his tape below, it’s tough to see him not making an immediate impact in 2020 — wherever he lands.
