Two recruiting cycles after five-star tackle Cade Mays decommitted from Tennessee to join the Georgia Bulldogs, Tennessee has picked up a commitment from Cade’s brother.
Cooper Mays, the second son of former Vol Kevin Mays, committed to Tennessee this afternoon. The four-star center prospect is the 10th public commitment of Tennessee’s 2020 class. Mays is the second offensive line commit of the class.

Mays is a four-star recruit, according to 247 Sports. He is the 317th rated player in the 2020 class — the 10th ranked player to come out of the state of Tennessee. He checks in at 6-2, 275 pounds.
He held offers from Georgia, Auburn, LSU, Ohio State and Florida, among several others.
Of course, Mays is out of Knoxville and attends Knoxville Catholic High School. Getting him committed is another step towards locking up the borders of the state, something that previous staffs have failed to do.
Mays will provide more depth to a still rebuilding offensive line, perhaps with a chance to play early with Brandon Kennedy playing his final season this fall.
Here’s what he brings to the table.
