Tennessee has emerged as a top contender for a cornerback out of Georgia. Javon Bullard, a three-star cornerback out of Milledgeville, named the Volunteers to his top seven this weekend.

Louisville, South Carolina, Georgia, N.C. State, Pitt and West Virginia joined Tennessee on his list.

Bullard checks in at 6-0, 183 pounds. He’s the 763rd ranked player in the class of 2021, according to 247Sports. Bullard is the 61st ranked cornerback in the class and the 65th ranked player in Georgia.

His offer list doesn’t exactly match his ranking, however. Auburn, Tennessee, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Virginia, West Virginia and other have offered Bullard, while Georgia has shown interest. Tennessee extended their offer in April of this year.

Bullard noted that he’s already been to Knoxville for a 7-on-7 tournament, where he got a chance to play in Neyland Stadium. After the recruiting restriction lifts, you can expect Bullard to get a closer look at the campus.

Tennessee currently has 24 commitments, but only two cornerbacks so far. The position could end up being a need with Baylen Buchanan set to leave after 2020 and the potential of Bryce Thompson heading to the NFL early. Three-star prospects Jay Jones and Nate Evans are currently the only two prospects committed at the position so far.

With only a few spots left in the class, Tennessee will be picky with their last few names. But considering the need, Bullard could be an option.
