UPDATE (10.50am): A PERSON has suffered “potentially serious injuries” after a car and lorry collided on the A9 near Alness this morning.

The collision occurred at Milnafua at around 8.15am.

The road is currently closed in both directions, with diversions in place via Invergordon.

Police said one person had suffered “potentially serious” injuries. No further information is currently known.

Traffic Scotland is warning that the duration of the road closure is “unknown at present” and has urged motorists to “use an alternative route at this time and allow extra time for their journey”.
