Police are appealing for witnesses following yesterday's incident.

Police have called for witnesses to come forward following the collision on the A835.

The single-vehicle incident near the Aultguish Dam at Loch Glascarnoch involved a white Citroen Berlingo van, which had been driving south from the Ullapool direction.

The vehicle left the road shortly before 5.30pm yesterday and the 33-year-old male driver was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

His injuries are described as serious but not are believed to be life-threatening.

Road Policing Sergeant Donnie Mackinnon said: "Our enquiries are ongoing into this incident and I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the van on the A835 beforehand to come forward.

"Any information can be passed to the Road Policing Unit in Dingwall by calling 101, quoting incident NE1586/19.

"The road was closed for some time to allow us to carry out an investigation at the scene and I would like to thank everyone affected for their understanding and patience."
