A final call has been issued to budding photographers from the Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch constituency seeking to enter Kate Forbes MSP’s photography competition.

Amateur snappers have the unique opportunity of having their work showcased at the Scottish Parliament in Ms Forbes’ office – and anyone wanting to enter must do so by noon on Monday.

Around 100 entries have been received, including stunning images captured across the constituency including the Old Man of Storr on Skye, the River Spey in Badenoch, Glen Nevis in Lochaber, and the seafront in Cromarty in Ross-shire.

Kate Forbes MSP, whose constituency includes Dingwall and the Black Isle, said: “When I first launched the competition last month, I genuinely had no idea how many people would enter.

“I have been bowled over not just by the quantity, but particularly by the quality of the entries.

“It simply demonstrates to me how fortunate I am to represent the most beautiful constituency in Scotland, and also shows how creative and talented Highlanders are.

“I will be shortlisting the finalists after the closing date of Monday, March 18 and I can already see that’s going to be a very difficult job. There is still time for people of all ages and abilities in my constituency to enter, and I’m looking forward to showcasing some home-grown talent on the walls of my Holyrood office.”

Photographs must be at least 1800 x 1200 pixels.

Entries will be accepted to Kate.Forbes.MSP@parliament.scot and must include the entrant’s name, full address and caption.

The photograph must be the entrant’s own work and accept that any image used from the competition will be used by Kate Forbes MSP without payment for any purpose.

Entrants must agree that their image will be on display in the Scottish Parliament.

Prior to submitting a photograph of any identifiable individual, entrants must obtain the consent of such person and advise them of the purpose of the submission.

The place featured must be within the Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch constituency boundary.
