LAUGHTER is proving contagious in a Ross-shire village establishing itself on the growing Highland comedy circuit.

For the past five months, The Muir Hub has been working in partnership with the Teuchter’s Comedy Club to provide shows in Muir of Ord.

Each month, on the second Friday of the month at 7.30pm, the Muir of Ord venue has been working in partnership with club to bring a night of hilarity and all-round fun to the village.

With the simple aim of leaving attendees leaving with smiles on their faces, the night of comedy is continuing throughout the summer.

The audience are being introduced to a variety of local comedians all with funny stories to share and all on a different stretch of path in their comedy career.

The Teuchter’s Comedy Club has been going from strength to strength with a recent sell-out gig at Eden Court and weekly laughs nights at La Tortilla in Inverness.

Hannah MacSween, community development manager at The Muir Hub said: “We are delighted to be continuing to host the comedy club who are doing such amazing things for comedy in the Highlands. The atmosphere on Fridays when the comedy club are in is great, full of laughter and positivity, and it’s great to be able to offer this to the Muir of Ord community.

"The night also works great with Café Artysans at The Muir Hub being open for evening meals on Friday nights with bring your own bottle.”

Halde Pottinger, organiser and performer of The Teuchter’s Comedy Club, said: “Over the past year, Teuchters have smashed The Muir Hub’s theatre with amazing local talents and some of the nation’s growing favourites including Chrissy Ross and Obie –and the most exciting thing is, we haven’t even started yet. It’s simple really, the bigger the crowds, the bigger we will make the shows!”.

The Muir Hub is Muir of Ord’s community facility established in 2017 and is host to meeting space for hire, a cinema, a small-scale hall and Café Artysans at The Muir Hub. The small-scale hall is frequently used for performance events.
