Ross County co-manager Steven Ferguson has described the frustrating nature of Iain Vigurs’s injury absence.
Vigurs has not played for the Ross County first team since November 10 due to a cracked bone in his foot.
But it had looked like a comeback was imminent a couple of weeks ago after the 30-year-old midfielder featured in a reserve game a couple of weeks ago.
The Staggies were optimistic that he was about to return to the fold, only for Vigurs to suffer another setback in his recovery.
According to Ferguson, it is the location of the crack in his foot that is making a return to action all the more complicated for Vigurs.
“It’s exceptionally unlucky we were told that it’s exactly the spot that if you’re striking a ball, it’s right over where the crack is,” Ferguson explained.
“It takes that little bit more time.
"Every time that we think we’re seeing a little light at the end of the tunnel, that light seems to go out one way or another.
“Certainly regarding what a football club can do for him, we’re trying absolutely everything."
