SALEM – Police are searching for a suspect who reportedly shot another man twice in the left arm Sunday shortly before 10 p.m.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the area of 190 Bridge St., after the reported shooting.

First responders found the unidentified victim with two gunshot wounds to the left arm. The victim was described as conscious and alert by emergency crews.

Police said the suspect, initially described only as wearing a gray hoodie, apparently fled the scene, either on foot or in a vehicle. Radio transmissions indicated that a witness had seen a man running toward the MBTA. Another witness reported a gold-colored or gray sedan speeding out of the parking lot.

A police bulletin was sent at 10:09 p.m. from Salem police to their counterparts in Beverly to be on the lookout for a gray sedan with a male dressed in all gray. 

The suspect was reported to be armed with handgun that had just been used.

At about 10:15 p.m., a police canine was called to the scene of the shooting to help with the investigation.
