MENā€™S COLLEGE BASKETBALL

Salem State 103, MCLA 77: Sean Bryan had 22 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, including his 1,000th career point as the Vikings (11-8 overall) improved to 5-1 in conference play. Hakeem Animashaun scored 21 points, grabbed 18 points, blocked three shots and made two steals while Temitope Bailey hit all seven of his shots from the perimeter to finish with 16 points. Fern Berard added 13 off the pine in the victory.

Gordon 100, UNE 71: Parker Omslaer finished with 16 points and eight rebounds as the red hot Scots (16-2) won for the eighth time in their nine conference tilts. Noah Szilaygi added 14 points, Avelino Damoura finished with 13 and Garrisson Duvivier contributed an 11-point, 15-rebound, 3-block outing.Ā 

Nichols 76, Endicott 69: Despite 16 points and nine boards from Danversā€™ Vinny Clifford, the Gulls fell to 12-6 with the home defeat. Matt McDevitt (14), Keith Brown (12) and Jordan Pettway (11) also finished in double figures.

WOMENā€™S COLLEGE BASKETBALL

Salem State 56, MCLA 38: The Vikings (3-15 overall) snared their first MASCAC win in six tries this season behind a game-high 12 points and 10 rebounds from Tyra Scott. Courtney Paschal pulled down 16 rebounds in addition to her eight points for SSU, which also received 11 points and three assists from Beverlyā€™s Natalie Mellinger off the bench.

Endicott 77, Nichols 46: Mikaela Rogers came off the bench to finish with team highs in points (15) and rebounds (12) for the victorious Gulls (now 12-6). Kaleigh Putnam and Emily Pratt both finished with dozen points in the win while Emma Tierney added 10.Ā 

UNE 73, Gordon 52: The Scots fell to 5-14 on the season despite a terrific 18-point, 16-rebound, 4-blocks performance from Sarah Gibbs. Brooke Dyson added 12 points in the setback.

BOYS INDOOR TRACK

St. Johnā€™s Prep 65, Xaverian 30: The Eagles were paced by wins from Sean Majeski in the 55 high hurdles (8.01), Harry Portorreal in the 300 (39.98), Geddes Donlon in the 600 (1:28.50), Jack Curtin in the long jump (21-2) and Nate Beucler in the shot put (44-11).

BOYS BASKETBALL

Beverly 63, Gloucester 49: Damian Bouras drained five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points as the visiting Panthers (7-2) jumped out to an eight-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Duncan Moreland finished with a game-high 19 points for the winners, who also got a dozen points from Jack Crowley and seven more from Toskany Abreu.Ā Ā 

Everett 72, Danvers 43: The Falcons trailed by only three (26-23) at the break, but were outscored by 21 points in the third quarter and fell to 6-6 on the season. Freshman Jared Berry led the way with 14 points while Armani Vlaun had 12 points while Justin DiTomaso had seven points and eight rebounds.

Hamilton-Wenham 62, Ipswich 55: Billy Whelanā€™s 24 points included a half-dozen 3-pointers made while Paul Hogan hit the game-winning trifecta with 20 seconds to go for the Generals. Markus Nordin added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the win.Ā The Tigers (3-7) got 14 points each from Will Vanderbilt and captain Jason Finkst and a dozen from fellow captain Ben Yanakakis.

Gr. Lawrence 58, Essex Tech 32: The Hawks (0-12) were led by senior captain Aaron Fournierā€™s 9 points, as well as 10 rebounds and four points out of junior captain C.J. Klass.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Marblehead 50, Salem 31: Using a spread out offensive attack, the Magicians got six points apiece from Emily Clough and Lila Walton to improve to 6-6 on the season (6-4 NEC). Fehr Gillett also had a strong game for the winners and finished with four points.

Beverly 55, Gloucester 41: Hailey Anderson scored 23 points to enable to Panthers to pick up the home win. Kylie McCarthy added a half-dozen points and 11 rebounds while Tia Bernard had eight points and four rebounds.

Danvers 54. Everett 53: Sophomore Autumn James scored 21 of her game-high 23 points in the second half, including the game-winning points with 10 seconds to play, while adding six rebounds and five steals as the Falcons (6-4 overall, 6-2 NEC) rallied from an early 12-point deficit to pull out a huge win.Ā Freshman Kristina Yebba added 13 points, including 6-of-7 shooting from the free throw line down the stretch to help secure the win. Junior forward Maddi Montanari was stellar defensively as well.

MENā€™S COLLEGE HOCKEY

New England College 5, Salem State 0: Despite a terrific 48-save outing from Sean Cleary in net, the Vikings had no answer for the hosts in falling to 5-12-1 on the season.

WOMENā€™S COLLEGE HOCKEY

Endicott 2, Castleton 1: Jade Meierā€™s goal with under two minutes to play, with Jillian Gibbs assisting, allowed the Gulls (10-3-4) to skate off with a win. Both players had an assist on teammate Ellen Carterā€™s first period tally, and Vendela Jonssonā€™s 10 saves helped seal the victory.
