CAMELS will be coming to Salisbury in a bid to raise funds for healthcare in Sudan.
On Sunday, June 2, Therese and Timujen, Lady Chichester’s two humped Bactrian camels, will be making an appearance at the Bishop’s Summer Fete in the city, alongside entertainment, stalls, games, and the chance to have pictures taken with a vintage Bentley or an Austin 7.
Live entertainment includes Navy Larks sharing the stage with The Amesbury Town Band.
Last year the fete raised £12,000 for the Sudan Medical Link, set up 34 years ago by the then Bishop of Salisbury, John Baker, and his wife, and has an objective of supplying medicines and clinical equipment to Sudan, as well as training local medical workers and midwives.
The event will be held at South Canonry, Cathedral Close, from 2pm until 5pm, with entry costing £2 at the gate.
