SALISBURY have added even more firepower to their line-up for their forthcoming Southern Premier League campaign with the signing of Weymouth Warren Bentley and the re-signing of Dan Fitchett.

This comes hot on the heels of the signing of another proven frontman in Toby Holmes from Wimbourne.

Striker Bentley was prolific scorer with Winchester City and joined Weymouth this time last year having scored 17 times in 35 starts for Poole Town in the National League South.

However, Bentley only managed to score once for the Terras, after he suffered concussion in a training ground accident.

Fitchett last season returned to the Whites from Wealdstone and netted 10 times.

Salisbury manager Steve Claridge said: “I very pleased with both signings. Warren will be a great player for us once he is fit.

“He is experienced player and we need players at the club, who can take the pressure as there will be a lot expected of us this season.”

Off the field the Whites received some super news as they secured a new three year sponsorship with Berry Telecom.

Claridge said: “This is really big for the club and fantastic news. They are really good guys who who take a real interest in the football club, which is really good to see.”

Claridge is working hard at the moment to build his squad for the next campaign and is hoping to add some more signings for the coming season by the end of the week if all goes to plans.

Salisbury players not returning in the autumn are Chris Shephard, who has signed for Tiverton, Tom Whelan, Bay Downing and Jake Hallett.

Salisbury’s pre-season is taking shape with five homes in July.

This will start with a visit from Championship side Reading’s under-23s on Saturday, July 6 (3pm).
