A TEENAGER, that was too young to hold a driving licence, was stopped by officers in the early hours for dangerous driving.
At around 12.30am Wiltshire Police officers stopped a Ford Fiesta that was being driven through the St Peter's Place estate in Salisbury, following reports that a car was being driven in the area in a dangerous manner.
After the car was followed and stopped, officers found a 14-year-old in the driver's seat.
The teenager has been reported for driving without a licence and driving without insurance.
Inspector Pete Sparrow said: “Firstly, I’d like to thank local residents for their vigilance and reporting their concerns about anti-social driving in the area. It is as a result of this information that officers were able to identify and stop the vehicle before anybody was injured.
“Officers were understandably shocked at the young age of the driver and he was returned to his parents address immediately.
"Of course, due to his young age, he is not eligible to hold a driving licence or be insured to drive a vehicle so he has been reported for these matters.”
