A FATHER-OF-THREE has raised more than £1,000 for two Salisbury schools by walking the distance between Penzance and Salisbury.
43-year-old Russell Bull covered a distance of 202 miles in the space of 11 days to fundraise for Harnham Infant School and Puddleducks.
He said: "The first three days were hard work but the last week I have quite enjoyed it and I found out areas of Salisbury that I didn't know."
Russell, who works for a catering company but is now on furlough, had originally planned to travel to Penzance by train to then walk back.
However, due to the pandemic, local authorities in Cornwall urged visitors to stay away to limit the spread of coronavirus.
By walking an average of 20 miles a day in the local area, mostly on his own but sometimes accompanied by his daughter Alice, the father-of-three has raised £1,045 through JustGiving and £65 in cash.
All proceeds will be equally split between the two schools.
He added"I'm very pleased, [the response] has been really good, I was just surprised that we raised that much."
