CORNER BROOK, N.L. — The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has laid charges against a 23-year-old Corner Brook man who fled a motor vehicle collision, leaving a passenger stranded and stuck in the overturned vehicle.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Nov. 2 on Valley Road in the west coast city. When police arrived, they found a female passenger alone and the driver nowhere to be found. Emergency responders safely removed the woman from the vehicle and brought her to hospital for "observations."
The accused, who'll make a court appearance in January, has been charged with failing to remain at a collision and driving while prohibited.
