Former Alabama defensive lineman Johnny Dwight is looking for a new NFL home.

The Houston Texans announced Friday that they have waived the rookie Dwight. The former Tide defensive lineman signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent, and he was sidelined for the team’s most recent preseason game against the Lions.

However, Dwight recorded three tackles in the Texans first preseason game against Green Bay.

During his time at Alabama, Dwight played in 18 games despite never starting a game. He played in 11 games as a senior in 2018 making six tackles.

Dwight signed with Alabama in the class of 2014. He was rated a 4-star prospect and was ranked as the nation’s No. 26 overall defensive tackle and the state of Georgia’s No. 26 overall prospect, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Now, Dwight will have to sit and wait to see if another NFL team gives him a shot.
