The NCAA transfer portal is supposed to be a good thing for players, right? It allows them to seek out playing time and get in touch with other schools.

Well, not everyone thinks that way, and we can count Arkansas LB De’Jon Harris among those few players who have a problem with the portal.

At SEC Media Days on Wednesday, Harris offered some interesting thoughts on the transfer portal:

“I don’t really like the transfer portal,” he said. “I feel like everybody should have to sit back and earn their spot, like everybody else in college football. I feel like highly recruited guys who hit the transfer portal always wind up eligible at another school and guys at smaller schools have to sit out. So I don’t really like the transfer portal.”

Harris has some interesting points, and seems to be upset that guys like Justin Fields and Tate Martell are able to play right away while others get their waivers denied by the NCAA.

It’s great that Harris shared his thoughts, because we rarely get to hear from players who don’t like the transfer system today.
