Springfield Police officers and Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies are finishing an eight-month narcotics investigation by arresting eight people on 23 felony warrants.

Springfield Police Sgt. James Woodcock said the two departments worked together on seven independent narcotics cases. Officers from the two agencies, along with Rincon Police officers, arrested three of the eight suspects Wednesday and the rest of the warrants were being entered into the Georgia Crime and Information Center.

The narcotics included marijuana, hash oil, cocaine, molly, prescription pills and methamphetamine.

“All three departments are continuing to work new narcotics cases and have no intention of letting up any time soon,” Woodcock said.
