LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a man is in custody after a woman says he was threatening to shoot her, himself and any officers who arrived at his Las Vegas home where they were staying.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the woman called police around 9:20 p.m. on Monday. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon says the man was having a mental health episode, and had been breaking furniture inside the home before threatening the woman.

Gordon says the department’s SWAT team responded and evacuated six neighboring houses. They entered the home and took the man into custody without incident.

Gordon says no injuries were reported but the woman was hospitalized as a precaution.
