EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A 45-year-old man convicted of sexually abusing two children younger than 14 when he lived in Springfield has been sentenced to 94 years in prison with no chance of early release.

The Register-Guard reports that Roy Jay Williams of Aumsville received the sentence Friday in Lane County Circuit Court.

A jury last week convicted Williams of 17 felony charges that included first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree sexual penetration.

Williams during the sentencing hearing told Judge Suzanne Chanti that he “never touched” the children.

But Chanti said the jury got it right and agreed with their verdict.
