FITCHBURG The Department of Public Works advises residents of the following work that will be done, weather permitting, during the week of Sept. 9.
Street Sweeping:
• Daytime spot sweeping in all Wards
• Please place sand for sweeper in windrows, not piles
Road Work
• Monday – Friday, 7 a.m.3 p.m. Minor traffic impacts:
• Resetting/replacing water gate box tops throughout city
• Repair potholes throughout city
• Use SeeClickFix.com or call 978-829-1900 to report a pothole
• Catch basin cleaning in Ward 5
• Crack sealing throughout city
Hydrant installation/repair on:
• Cleghorn Street near Federal Street
• 320 Fairmount street
• Culvert repair on: Stickney Road
• There could be closures between McIntire and Sheldon road
Gas main work by Unitil;
Monday – Friday, 7 a.m.-4 p.m.; Expect delays and detours
in the areas of: Elizabeth Street, Pine Street, Putnam Park and Spruce Street
Hydrant Flushing:
• High System (hydrants with red bonnets/tops)
• Updates posted on City Facebook page or call 978-345-9618
• Flushing is scheduled for Franklin Road, Joseph Avenue, Madison Street, Theresa Street, and West Street
