FITCHBURG — The Health Department will hold its Third Annual Community Health Resource Fair from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 at the Senior Center, 14 Wallace Ave.

All area residents are invited to this free event which will have over 60 state, federal andlocal organizations present to share information.

Although being held at the Senior Center, the Resource Fair is geared to all ages. Local services represented will include: health and wellness, housing and shelter assistance, food resources, energy and fuel assistance, support groups, substance use resources, elder care, services for children, domestic violence, veteran’s services and cultural offerings. Many City entities will also be represented including Police, Fire, Emergency Management, Water, Senior Center, Public Library, Human Rights Commission, Community Development, Disability Commission, Fitchburg-Leominster Housing Authority and Cultural Council.

Also participating will be the Office of District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr., the Office of the Attorney General of Massachusetts, Legal Aid and the Federal Census Bureau.

The Health Department will have several tables highlighting their services. Attendees willbe able to get a blood pressure check, purchase a permit to the Fitchburg Sanitary Landfill(with proper documentation), speak with a housing inspector and food inspector and learnabout the many substance abuse prevention services offered.

The Fitchburg Holiday Decorating Committee will be selling refreshments to help fundthe holiday lights on Main Street. Free raffles will be featured, with many prizes awarded.
