Aarohan Pratibhakosh Released At Guwahati Press Club

GUWAHATI: Aarohan Artists’ Guild’s 19th felicitation programme was commenced on Sunday at Guwahati Press Club where people from different areas were felicitated for their contribution to the Assamese cultural and academic arena. The awardees includes teacher Sabin Kumar, Mrigendra Kalita, Purandar Goswami, Sankarlaal Choudhury, Tarun Chandra Rabha and Mehboob Aali. A book, Aarohan Pratibhakosh was also released in the programme conducted by author Homen Medhi and president of Aarohan Artists’ Guild Dilip Nath. Author and convener of All Assam Journalists’ Union Manoranjan Bhatacharya formally released the book and said, “The demand of books in our society is very awful. Nowadays internet can provide us with lots of information but the real happiness of reading by holding a book in hands can’t be compared”.

Dhiren Sharma, president of Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad attended the programme as the guest of honour. Other delegates include Nabajyoti Saikia, chief editor of Saya magazine and singer Hemanta Das.
