GUWAHATI: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) cell of Dispur Law College in association with Assam College Librarian Association organized a webinar on 'online e-resources', here on Wednesday.
The webinar was inaugurated by Dr. Gargi Dutta Paul, Principal Dispur Law College; Dr Prasanta Kr. Deka, G.S. ACLA and Librarian, K.C. Commerce College; Dr. Kankana Baishya, Assistant Librarian, National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam; Dr. Nikhil Hazarika Librarian (i/c) Madhabdev University and Member of ICT CELL, ACLA; and Dr. Birendra Pal, co-ordinator ICT CELL ACLA and Librarian, Kaliabor College were the resource persons.
There were participants from the faculty members as well as from academic staff of various colleges of Assam as well. The Webinar was also open for the research scholars, students and the response was overwhelming.
The resource persons talked in length about the use of e-resource as the tool of learning in the current circumstances where the world is undergoing through a crisis. In such a situation it is of urgent necessity to keep things moving and to seek alternative mode of teaching. They also talked about the various platforms of e-learning like INFLIBNET, Swayam, Shodhganga, EPG- Pathasala, NDLA Google Classroom, etc. Demonstrations were made in power point and other tools to make the participants aware about the use of different e- resources. They also made the participants conscious about the holding of on-line examinations.
The webinar was concluded by Dr. Sanjay Singh, Head Of department, Library and Information Science, Gauhati University. He praised the initiative of ACLA, ICT CELL in association with Dispur Law College for organizing the webinar to make the people aware about e- resources. He also stressed that discussions should not be restricted to webinars only but execution and implementation of such initiative should be taken.
