Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee to up Ante against CAB

Itanagar: The Congress in Arunachal Pradesh will launch demonstrations and protest rallies across the State on January 24 in protest against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, initiated by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre which was passed by Lok Sabha on January 8, 2019.

Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Takam Sanjoy while terming the bill as discriminatory, communal, undemocratic, arbitrary and draconian, informed here on Tuesday that party workers would march through the main thoroughfare of the State capital which would culminate in front of Civil Secretariat.

The APCC had adopted a resolution to this effect, Sanjoy said and asked the party workers to ensure effective demonstration and distribution of copy of the bill in offices and people up to village level for bringing mass awareness as the State, though protected by the Constitution, is facing a refugee problem and would be worst hit by the Bill.
